Our first residential produced a real scouting outcome
Finn's story
Finn had attended several of our showcases, each time building his understanding of what scouts are looking for. He took that further at our residential, pushing himself across a full week of academy-standard training.
“Being in that environment helped me grow massively — my decision-making improved, my confidence on the ball increased, and I learned how to adapt quickly to different systems.”
Finn, on our first residential
On the final day, he was scouted by West Ham United.
Looking after your son
Who is on site, and how many staff
On site throughout the week are our Head of Camp, an assistant Head of Camp and chaperones. We usually have one member of staff for every five players. All staff are DBS checked, and our Head of Camp is the designated safeguarding lead.
Medical needs and allergies
If my son has never been away before
Our staff are on site to make everyone feel at home. We break the ice on day one, so players start the week knowing each other, and many leave with new friends. If a player feels homesick, the Head of Camp talks it through with him and with you, and we keep you updated.
Arrival and send-off
We confirm drop-off and pick-up times once your place is booked and closer to the date. On arrival there is an introduction, and a parent send-off once the players have been shown to their rooms.
Phones and contact
We keep phones away for most of the day, so players don’t go to bed on their phones. They are not used at meals or during training. Players have their phones at set times, so you can contact them, and you can always contact the Head of Camp.
Rooms and groups
Food and dietary needs
Behaviour
We don’t accept bullying or anti-social behaviour at camp. Players who behave this way can be sent home.
